Our Ministry

The name “Hagios” comes from I Peter 3:15, which reads, “but sanctify Christ as Lord is your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence.”

The word “sanctify” translated from the Greek means to set apart, to devote or to consecrate.

The vision received in 1993 was that of a small band of women disciples determined to obey God at all costs in every area of their lives. They were to be a group of believers utterly devoted to God and His purposes, who have decided to live lives that will count in the kingdom and bear fruit for eternity.

To its members, “Hagios” means that we are to be devoted to God and His purposes. We don’t want to live for ourselves, our families, our jobs or our friends. We are to live for God and His kingdom. Our desire is that everything we do will count in eternity.

There are three categories of membership in Hagios House. You can be a:

  1. Hagios Sister (official member)
  2. Family Member (those we serve in various ministries like those who are IFS parents; users of Beulah Retreat House or HWL; those who are in cells of Hagios council members)
  3. Friends (those who are committed to pray for the ministry)
